Announcing the Launch of the GT Leadership Residency

This has been a challenging year. The pandemic, continued racial injustice, and attack on the US Capitol complicated and highlighted the work that teachers across the country are doing every day to build a better future. As our team reflected on the need for generations of culturally responsive, antiracist educators, we explored how we could do more to support and develop both teachers and leaders. To that end, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our Leadership Residency.

The Generation Teach Leadership Residency is designed for anti-racist educators committed to co-creating loving communities where generations of students, teachers, and leaders learn, develop, and grow. The Residency builds on GT core values and practices while building the next generation of leaders.

The Residency is an 8-month, national experience to unite dozens of outstanding educators who share our mission, vision, values, and commitment to dismantling white supremacy culture. Following a virtual launch, we will meet twice monthly on Wednesday evenings in March, April, May, and June; lead in-person or virtual programming together in June, July, and August; then collaborate in August, September, and October to bring our learning to our classrooms, schools, or communities. Residents will leave the program with practices and protocols to lead long-term change.

Residents will receive an $8,000 scholarship to support their participation in the program.

Watch the video below to hear the reflections of past Generation Teach leaders and then apply here today. We can’t wait to learn, grow, and lead with you!
